Fashion week
Are we crazy or what? I think that’s the phrase the whole planet is asking itself right now. It is unbelievable that we are living through such tremendous barbarism at this point in history. Unfortunately this is the way it is and we can only hope that it will end as soon as possible. In the meantime, we continue with the day to day and right now we are living La Semana de la Moda with capital letters. We’d better say La Fashion week which is more chic. From Mediterranean Look we want to tell you a bit of everything that is happening.
We can say that Fashion Week is one of the most important events held in the top capitals of the world. It is held twice a year in February and September. Brands and designers show their latest creations during this week. They usually show their spring/summer and autumn/winter collections. Potential buyers and the media come together and report on the event. Apparently it started in New York in 1994 to have the format it has now.
Anyone who wants to follow the latest in fashion can do so by watching the shows in Paris, Milan, London and New York. Here in Spain we have the Fashion week in Madrid from the 9th to the 13th of March. You will be able to see all the new fashion proposals of our country being a great showcase of the fashion industry in Spain.
Milan’s fashion week
Paris fashion week
This year’s fashion week in Paris made the biggest impact during the opening night. The Off-White show was the first after the death of its founder Virgil Abloh. It was of course full of emotions in remembrance of him, with well-known figures such as Cindy Crawford with her daughter Kaia, Naomi Campbell, the Hadid sisters and Kendall Jenner.
The most shared photo in Paris was undoubtedly that of Rihanna. She appeared at the Dior autumn/winter fashion show in a black lace dress. We can say that we know what underwear she is wearing while she is pregnant because she left nothing to the imagination. No doubt even though she is going to be a mum she is still that rebellious girl who likes to draw attention to herself.
New York and London
At the New York fashion week held in February, we were able to see how this time there were in-person fashion shows. Big brands such as Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera or Coach paraded under great security measures due to the Coronavirus. Those who wanted to could follow the shows on the Runway 360 digital platform.
London’s fashion week, meanwhile, stood out for the menswear designers who are breaking through and really shaking up the fashion industry. Designers such as Saul Nash, Robyn Lynch, SS Daley and Ladrum London who are all on the BFC NewGen programme.
We think that along with fashion week this March, the most eagerly awaited thing is undoubtedly the second season of The Bridgertons. We got a sneak preview of the trailer on Valentine’s Day and many people are already looking forward to March 25th. It will undoubtedly take us into the most provocative England you can find on TV.
So I think this month is going to be very busy in all aspects, from Mediterranean Look we wish you the best as always. We look forward to your visit and comments.
