Every first Monday of May is the most awaited fashion event in the world. We are talking about the Met Gala and this year is special because it is a tribute to the great Karl Lagerfeld. The Met Museum in New York for this gala will have Penelope Cruz as one of the co-anchors. The actress throughout her career has had a very special relationship with Lagerfeld. She has been Chanel’s luxury ambassador for five years, being the first Spanish woman to do so. In addition, she had a personal friendship with the designer and this will be the third time she attends this gala that will surely be spectacular. Vogue USA has made a special editorial and cover for the occasion.

First we will enjoy the pink carpet, not red as in the Oscars and then the big dinner. We at Mediterranean Look are always on the lookout for what’s going on in fashion and we’re certainly not going to miss it.

The former creative director of Chanel who passed away three years ago was not a fan of retrospectives. But the exhibition to be called Karl Lagerfeld : A line of Beauty is going to be a magical tribute to his work. The museum is going to display 150 pieces made by him. Apart from his own brand Lagerfeld worked for the houses of Balmain, Chloé, Chanel, Fendi and Patou. They had to choose between 10,000 pieces with their sketches included, which was not easy, all his designs started with a sketch and then became a reality.

The dress code will of course be : in honor of Karl, so different versions are expected. From his iconic look with black jacket to all the designs he created from the beginning.

May in Mallorca

May is shaping up to be a very attractive month and it couldn’t start better with the Met Gala 2023. We love how Mallorca is getting ready for the summer. We will have The Kooks, Black Eyed Peas and The Chemical Brothers as the most important artists. Then incredible performances every day from other national and international artists. So we are going to be dancing and singing along to the chorus for three days.
